Love at the Harbour // Becca and Phil

Whether you just got engaged or you’ve been married for a year or ten, it is always a good time to have pictures with the love of your life! I love these couple shoots because they are so much like engagement pictures, which are typically a lot of fun and super easy! Add a cute doggie in the mix and you’ve got yourself an adorable family.

Phil and Becca knew they wanted some pictures at the harbour as a change from some of the more common field, forest, and “green” backdrops. I love the way the boats added depth and the water was just perfect!

I love finding new places to explore so that I always have a handy list of locations for any photography inquiry. Since moving to Kitchener-Waterloo I have start exploring just a little bit but now that the busy summer is over I plan on hitting some awesome locations, stay tuned for a post all about it!

A Grenada Love Story // Bryce & Marisol

When we were living on the small island of Grenada in the West Indies we had some very good friends come and visit us! Now they were already married but I like to think of this shoot as an engagement session. I really treat every session with just me and a couple in love like an engagement photoshoot. They are definitely some of my favourite session, especially when we are dealing with some gorgeous landscape that is the Spice Isle of the Caribbean!

We had so much fun for this session. I love a good adventure especially when it comes to photography. That’s the best part of engagement session, the adventure! The stress free time to get awesome poses and pictures. I get to be really creative and have so much fun getting to know couples! That’s why I include an engagement session in my wedding packages. I love this session and use it as an opportunity to really get to know the people I’m going to spend one of the most precious days of their lives.

I hope you enjoy this super fun, adventurous “engagement” session as much as we did doing it!

At Home Photography // The Nabrotzkys

Life with a newborn can be a big adjustment. Life with multiple kids and a newborn is chaotic. This beautiful family just brought their third baby girl home from the hospital and they are living in new territory now. That third baby is a game changer!

They knew they wanted pictures but the thought of actually getting everyone dressed and happy and out of the house for some on location pictures seemed a little daunting. I suggested we do a lifestyle session in their own home to make it easier and more comfortable for everyone. They didn't need to worry about packing snacks, changes of clothes, diapers, soothers, or drinks. I just came over to their house in the morning and after a quick nursing session we were able to begin.

Letting the girls show me around their house and having them help me with the baby and with taking the pictures involved them in a fun way so they didn't feel too much like they were being asked to sit still and smile the whole time. We were able to go into the nursery and play in the living room and take as many potty and nursing breaks as necessary!

It was so much fun to watch the little girls just love their baby sister. Seeing Dad play with his daughters just melted my heart. Watching mom care for her three babies and giving them each the attention they needed is why I love what I do. Family photography, especially in home lifestyle sessions, brings me into your world and gives me a glimpse of your life and lets you cherish these moments forever!

Fall Beauty // Whitney

I think I've made it pretty clear my favourite season is fall, As soon as September hits that's basically all I can talk about so I won't gush so much about the most perfect season ever. Instead I'll gush about this most gorgeous woman ever.

If there is anyone in my life who has style and class and the inner beauty to go along with it, it's Whitney. I would say that she is my biggest inspiration when it comes to my own personal style, my home decor (I thank her for my lemon obsession) and my photography. As almost every photographer has to start some where, I definitely started without a lack of direction when it came to what I wanted and how I wanted my pictures to turn out. A few years in and I was still getting the hang of it. Four years ago I moved onto a little street in Kingston, Ontario and this beautiful woman was my neighbour.

The rest is history. I admired her own personal style so much it encouraged me to find my own. I finally understood what I wanted creatively and how to do was just the next step. I finally felt the confidence in my work that I didn't have before, making it easier to be the photographer I am today. Thank you Whitney! You are a beautiful person!
